Dave King is the President and a Managing Partner of U.S. Capital Wealth, responsible for the strategic direction and management of the firm. In addition to his leadership role, Dave has been a financial advisor for over 30 years.
Prior to Co-founding U.S. Capital, he was a Managing Director at UBS where he advised a number of the firm’s largest institutional and family office clients.
Dave holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin and an M.B.A. from The American University in Washington, DC. He has been a CFA® Charter Holder since 1999 and is a member of CFA® Institute, CFA® Society of Houston, and is a member of the CFA® Houston Strategic Advisory Board. He is active in the Houston community and has held advisory board positions for several nonprofit organizations including the Children’s Museum of Houston and Heroes for Children. He is a lifetime ambassador of Texas Children’s Hospital.
Pat Mendenhall is a Managing Partner and Co-founder of U.S. Capital Wealth. Before launching U.S. Capital, he was a Managing Director and Complex Manager at UBS. He has over 40 years of experience in the financial services industry.
While at UBS, Pat’s wealth management complex was consistently ranked in the top five in the U.S. During his 15 years of running the complex, he more than tripled revenue and AUM through recruiting and development. In addition, he seeded what became the UBS International Office in Houston and was instrumental in opening the UBS private banking office by contributing advisors to both operations.
A graduate of Oregon State University, he is a former trustee of the Oregon State University Foundation and previously sat on the Foundation’s Investment Committee. He is also a former board member of the Houston SPCA, the largest animal rescue effort in Texas. He formerly served as the vice chairman of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Corporate Development Committee and remains a lifetime member and contributor.
Jim Fortescue is a Managing Partner of U.S. Capital Wealth. He has over 25 years of experience building, operating and managing companies, investment portfolios and relationships in the financial services space. Prior to joining the firm, Jim served as the Chief Operating Officer at Annaly Capital Management, Inc. (NYSE: NLY). He began his career at Annaly in 1995 and served there until 2014 in various roles including COO, Head of Liabilities, Chief of Staff, Executive Vice President and was a member of Annaly’s Executive, Operations, and Risk Committees.
Jim has served on multiple industry panels including a Financial Stability Board panel in front of the G-20 at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, a Markets Stability panel in front of the US Treasury Department, and the Risk Management Association Securities Lending and Borrowing Legal & Regulatory Round Table. Jim serves as the Treasurer on the Board of Trustees of Don Bosco Prep High School and serves on the board of Halo Investing, Inc. Jim received his B.S. in Finance from Siena College and attended the New York Institute of Finance for intense mortgage- backed securities studies.
Willa serves as the Chief Operating Officer of U.S. Capital Wealth. Willa provides oversight of the daily operations at the Firm and continued enhancement of our people, processes and technology. She is focused on providing clients with best-in-class solutions and service. She has over a decade of experience working in the financial services industry across SEC Registered Investment Advisors managing individual accounts and comingled vehicles, as well as serving in various roles at publicly traded companies.
Prior to joining the firm, Willa ran Investor Relations for three publicly traded mortgage REITs, Annaly Capital Management, Inc. (NYSE: NLY), Chimera Investment Corp. (NYSE: CIM) and Crexus Investment Corporation (Formerly NYSE: CXS) where she worked closely to provide support and information to institutional and individual investors and sell-side research analysts. Willa served as an associate on the Strategy and Capital Markets team at Annaly and was responsible for internal and external corporate communication. Willa received her B.A. in Communications and Marketing from Loyola University Maryland.
Kasey de Jonckheere is the Chief Financial Officer of U.S. Capital Wealth. She has over 20 years of accounting and finance experience. Prior to joining the firm, Kasey served in various finance and accounting roles at Cockrell Interests, a single family office. At Cockrell, she led a team of fifteen accounting professionals responsible for implementing policies, procedures, internal controls, software systems and financial reporting for multiple consolidated partnerships. Prior to joining Cockrell, Kasey held accounting management roles at companies including Willbros and Marubeni Itochu Tubulars, and was an auditor at Pannell Kerr Forster (“PKF”), a Houston-based accounting firm. She started her career as a Litigation Advisory Services Consultant at Ernst and Young in New York City. Kasey is a licensed certified public accountant in the state of Texas and earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting, graduating magna cum laude, from Texas A&M University.
Courtney Bowling is the Head of Legal and Compliance for U.S. Capital Wealth. Courtney rejoined the firm in 2023 after working for National Regulatory Services as a Consultant for almost two years. Courtney previously worked for U.S. Capital from 2017 to 2021 and served as a Chief Compliance Officer for several U.S. Capital entities during that time. Courtney has over 15 years of experience in the financial services industry, serving on both the regulatory side, for the Texas State Securities Board, and in the private sector.
Courtney earned her Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from Texas Wesleyan University, her Juris Doctor degree from Texas Wesleyan School of Law (now known as Texas A&M University School of Law), and is a member of the Texas State Bar.
Jon Meyer serves as Chief Compliance Officer (“CCO”) of U.S. Capital Wealth. Jon joined U.S. Capital Wealth (formerly Legacy One Financial Advisors) as Chief Compliance Officer in 2018 after spending 21 years as the Chief Compliance Officer of Halbert Wealth Management, another SEC registered Investment Advisor located in Austin, TX. As CCO of U.S. Capital Wealth, Jon is responsible for helping to ensure the firm stays in compliance with all the applicable regulatory requirements of the Securities and Exchange Commission as well as other relevant regulatory agencies. This includes the ongoing filing requirements, as well as developing, reviewing and supervising the processes and procedures necessary to comply with regulations.
Jon’s other experience includes serving as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Sterling Trust Company.
Jon has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Sam Houston State University with a Finance major.
Patti Trieglaff is the branch manager of the firm’s Houston and Austin offices and has been in the financial services industry for over 35 years. She spent 22 years at UBS, with earlier positions at Drexel Burnham Lambert and Smith Barney. For much of her time in the industry she has created branch office environments where advisors and their teams are enabled to provide best-in-class service and investment solutions to their clients. She holds FINRA Series 7, 8, 63 and 65 securities licenses, in addition to an insurance license.
Patti earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Texas A&M University at College Station. She’s held athletic club board positions and contributes to a variety of nonprofit organizations in the Houston area.
Julieta Sandoval is the Chief Administrative Officer of U.S. Capital Wealth. She has over 20 years of experience in the wealth management industry. Prior to joining the firm, Julieta was at UBS where she was responsible for administration for business lines ranging from wealth management and corporate stock benefits to institutional equities and fixed income.
Julieta has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston with a double major in business administration and management.
Debbie Palmer is the Head of Branch Office Operations for U.S. Capital Wealth. She is an industry veteran with more than 40 years of experience in wealth management operations. Prior to joining the firm, she managed all branch operations for the largest Houston branch complex of UBS as well as its predecessor firm, PaineWebber. Debbie has been with U.S. Capital since its inception.
Debbie holds FINRA Series 7, 8, 9, 10, 63 and 66 licenses, as well as the NFA Securities Principle certification.
Suzanne Kitchel is the Head of Human Resources & Benefits at U.S. Capital Wealth. Suzanne has over 30 years of experience in corporate accounting, HR, & Benefits management and administration.
Suzanne graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, with a B.A. in Marketing. And then earned an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Business. Suzanne has her SHRM-CP certification.
Charles Dix is a financial advisor and manages the Dallas office of U.S. Capital Wealth. Prior to joining the firm, Charles was a financial advisor and manager at Wells Fargo. He began his career in 1984 with Dean Witter. During his over 40-year tenure in the industry, he has served as a financial advisor and in management roles at Dean Witter, Morgan Stanley, Wachovia Securities and Wells Fargo.
Charles holds a Liberal Arts degree from Austin College, with a major in business and economics. He is a graduate of the Wharton School of Business Corporate Management Program and the Southern Methodist University Certified Financial Planning program. He has been a FINRA arbitrator and a chairman of arbitration cases for over 20 years.
Bill Hurt is a Senior Managing Director of U.S. Capital. He is both a financial advisor and heads the firm’s investment banking team.
Bill has over 40 years of experience in the financial services industry, including 10 years at Sanders Morris Harris and 21 years in various roles at J.P. Morgan Chase and its predecessor entities, including the J.P. Morgan Private Bank, J.P. Morgan Investment Management and Texas Commerce Bank.
Bill received his B.A. from the University of Virginia and holds an M.B.A. from the Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston. He serves on the Board of the Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston.
David is the Head of Public Finance at US Capital, responsible for oversight of the firm’s municipal bond advisory activities. He has over 40 years of experience working in the municipal bond markets. Prior to joining the firm, David led all municipal bond trading, underwriting, and public finance activities for Coastal Securities, which he co-founded in 1991. Prior to Coastal he was a partner at Master, Sanford, Coon, Ward, and Holland, a firm which he also co-founded.
David graduated with a BS from Vanderbilt University. He has served on the Municipal Advisory Council of Texas, and was Chairman in 2004.
Barry Guinn is Head of the Institutional Client Group (ICG) at U.S. Capital. In addition to running the firm’s institutional equities business, he is responsible for providing research, corporate access, trading capabilities and relationship management to institutional investors and large family offices. Prior to joining the firm, Barry was a Vice President in the Institutional Equities Group at UBS where he served a relationship manager to institutional investors and family offices investing across the energy, energy infrastructure, and power sectors. Prior to UBS, he was an Associate at Deutsche Bank Alex. Brown.
Barry graduated from Texas A&M with a Bachelor of Business Administration.
Keith Hassan serves as a Managing Director of Corporate Operations for U.S. Capital Wealth. Keith works with senior management on firm initiatives to provide industry leading solutions and services for our advisors. He previously was the Chief Operating Officer of Laidlaw Wealth Management and joined U.S. Capital through its acquisition of Laidlaw Wealth. He has over 25 years of financial services experience having previously worked as a Sales Trader with a focus on Risk Arbitrage at Convergex, KCG and Morgan Stanley.
Keith graduated from the Villanova School of Business at Villanova University with a BS in Business Administration, majoring in Finance. He is an active member of the Villanova Alumni community and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Villanova Financial Club. The club assists University students with mentorship opportunities and organizes social events supporting the University.
Betsy Hodges is the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) of USCA Securities, LLC. She joined the company in 2023 after spending 13 years at the Texas State Securities Board (TSSB). During her time at the TSSB, Betsy worked as a Financial Examiner and then served as the Assistant Director of the Inspections and Compliance Department. As CCO of USCA Securities, Betsy is responsible for reviewing the firm’s procedures and overseeing business activities to help ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. She holds a FINRA Series 14 license. Betsy graduated from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Family and Consumer Sciences. She currently lives in Austin with her son.
